To meet the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 customers must be able to opt out of text message communication with no cost. Therefore, customers are not charged when they reply.
This means pharmacies will be charged 12 cents per customer reply
for all messages, including opting out.
Using Texting: Message Replies
Replies to text messages can be found in 6. Contact and 4. Contacts/clients from the main menu of Dispensary and Retail respectively. Toniq alerts users to new messages by displaying a red message icon on the top banner which can be seen from anywhere in the programs:
Message replies are only shown in their respective program. For example, you won’t see text replies to messages sent from Dispensary in the Retail program or vice versa. This is also true for multi-store sites where each site will only see replies to their own messages.
Using Texting: Message Replies Screen
Replies can be viewed by entering the contact screen. The screen presents a list of recipients with unactioned text replies in the last 30 days. When a recipient is highlighted,180 days’ worth of conversational history is shown:

If the message box is red, a message will show why you cannot send to this recipient:
Replies can be actioned by pressing F3 Mark Done:
- Note: this will set all replies for this recipient as done:
By default, this screen only shows unactioned recipients. However, pressing F10 toggles between actioned and unactioned recipients.
- Tip: Double-click the message if you want to change messages to unactioned.
Using Texting: Quick Contact
Pressing Q Quick contact (under F10 Other when a patient has been selected in the prescription entry screen) goes to the texting reply screen for the chosen recipient. You can send messages by pressing F8 Message tmplts or free typing in the message box:

In Dispensary Quick notes will continue to be added to the patient history for messages sent this way.
