Toniq templates are useful whenever a form is required, e.g., LTC, vaccination, consent, PDA, or referral forms. Template fields can be pre-populated with information such as patient name, current GP, or NHI. Templates can be saved on a patient's record and are helpful for audit or clinical review purposes.
Using Patient Diary Templates
- Select a patient, press F10 Other then Open patient diary.
- Press F7 Use Tmplate:
- Then search for and select the one required:

Simple templates can be made within Toniq itself:
- From the main menu, go to 9. Other, 5. Edit note templates, then press F3 Add.
- Use the options under F3 Patient field and F4 Other field to add pre-population details such as patient name, NHI, and date.
- The function keys can also be used to format the document.
More detailed forms can be created in Word and then imported into Toniq:
- Create a Word document of the form you want to import.
- Tip: Tables can be used to format where fields need to be placed.
- Save as a .rtf:
- In Word, press Save as.
- Select Rich Text Format from the drop-down box below the file name:
- Tip: Save the attachment to C:\Toniq Users\Notes\Templates - use the [Backspace] key to aid in navigating in the file browser - so that loading it is easier.
- Note: Some formatting (e.g. shading) is not preserved when saving Word documents as Rich Text Format.
- Then in Dispensary, load the saved template into Toniq Dispensary:
- From the Main Menu, go to 9. Other > 5. Edit note templates.
- Press F3 Add, then press F10 Other and select 4 Load from template file (.WPT).
- Highlight the required template.
- Press F12 Accept Details to save that template.
Templates provided by Toniq
Some templates are available upon request from Toniq for regional or targeted uses. Please email support@toniq.co.nz to ask whether a template for a specific group is available.
