All dispensing data is sent to NZePS and regional repositories such as TestSafe and HealthOne. Patients may choose to keep this information confidential. Depending on what they request, this can be done by various methods:
Single Item Confidential
- To make a single script item confidential:
- While dispensing the script item, press F10 Other and select X Repository ‘Confidential’ set:
Some Patient Medicines Confidential
- To make specific patient medicines dispensed from this pharmacy confidential:
- Select the patient in the prescription entry screen.
- Press F2 Edit Patient then F11 Next Page.
- Under Regional Repository, tick Remember confidential meds (see screenshot below).
- Press F11 Next Page twice and F12 Accept Details to save.
- Mark medicines as confidential as described above in Single Item Confidential.
- Note: Medicines marked as confidential for a patient remain confidential for future dispensings, provided they have been dispensed at least once in the previous six months.
All Patient Medicines Confidential
- To make medicines dispensed to a patient confidential at this pharmacy:
- Follow the steps in Some Patient Medicines Confidential above, but tick All meds confidential.
Medicines from All Pharmacies Confidential
- If the patient wants all script information sent from all pharmacies to be confidential, they need to contact the regional repository (e.g. TestSafe, HealthOne) mentioned on the receipt:
Restrict Non-Medicines from Exporting
- Non-medicines, such as services and fees, can be marked so they don’t export to regional repositories (e.g. TestSafe, HealthOne):
- Note: Medicines with the Class set to Fee are automatically excluded.
