Foreign Tender types (FOREX)

Foreign Exchange Rates (Forex) is designed to allow you to accept foreign currencies as a method of payment and let Toniq work out the value of the foreign currency to the New Zealand dollar.
 
 NB: Toniq does not keep the exchange rates up to date. This is the responsibility of the pharmacy.

Setting up Foreign Exchange Tender Types

         NB: This only needs to be done once per Foreign Exchange you require.

From the Main Menu:

• 7 Administration
  5 Other Administration
  2 Maintain Tender Type
• F3 [Add]
• Fill in the Tender name (e.g., Australian AUD)
• Enter a short description which will appear on the Tender selection list
• Enter one character Selection Code (not currently used by another tender type
  
   NB: If this field goes Red the Selection code has already been ‘used’, try again.

• Set the Select Order

            NB: This determines where this tender type appears in the Tender list: the higher the number entered the lower it appears in the list

• Leave the next few fields as set
• At Account ID field type in * and ENTER
• F3 [Add]
• Type into Account Name field *Shop*/Australian. Leave ‘Account Type’ set to General
• Press F12 [Accept Details] to add the account and return to the Tender type screen
• Set the Number of Receipts required (normally 1)
• Type in a Forex currency string
• Type in today's current rate

          NB: This will be changed daily but from a different screen – see "Updating Forex Rates" section for more details.

• F12 [Accept Details]

Updating Forex Rates (Daily)

From the Main Menu:

• 1 POS, 7 Utilities, 1 Forex rates
• Apply the rates as per the daily bank forex printout
• F12 [Accept Details]

Reporting

Foreign Exchange transactions will show as a separate entry on the Till Summary Report.
