Medicines "sitting on the shelf" uncollected are expected to be deferred from the claim before sending it. If the Collection status of Prescriptions is turned on, this can be done in bulk.
Process
- In a new claim, press F2 Edit Claim, then F4 Status.
- Select Phone/Fax/Refer/Uncollected Rxs - Defer options.
- Choose the required option from the ones presented, either:
- Uncollected scripts only, or
- All Phone/Fax/Referred and Uncollected scripts:

A barcode scanner can be used to scan/defer items from the claim:
- In a new claim, press F2 Edit Claim, then F4 Status.
- Select Scan/defer Rxs in bulk.
- Scan the barcode printed on the receipt or label attached to each item on the shelf.
- Note: the script number can also be entered manually instead of scanning.

- All items done on the same visit as the scanned script will change status to Deferred.
- The patient's name and how many items have been deferred will be displayed:
Notes on Barcodes
There are different barcodes with separate functionality.
- Barcodes on Dispensary receipts and bag labels can be scanned at POS and used to defer uncollected scripts.
- Barcodes on telephone prescriptions and fax/refer labels are used to receive signed telephone, fax, and refer scripts in bulk.
