Email details within Toniq are used for sending messages to customers, patients and prescribers, emailing account statements, and even emailing POS receipts.
The locations for email configuration in Toniq are:
- In Dispensary go to 7. Administration > 1. Setup > 8. Pharmacy setup > 3. Email setup
- For Retail go to 7. Administration > 1. Setup > 7. Store setup > 2. Email setup
The email configuration can be tested in both Retail and Dispensary using F6 Test Email:
Email Authentication Method (Basic / Sendgrid)
Toniq now supports 2 authentication methods for email sending. Basic SMTP and Sendgrid. You can select the authentication type by pressing <spacebar> in the Authentication field. The default method is Basic.
Basic (SMTP): This is used with your email providers SMTP server, username and password. Emails will be sent from your email via your email provider.
SendGrid: This is an emailing service Toniq uses which will send emails from @toniq.co.nz on your stores behalf. This is useful if your email provider does not support basic smtp authentication. You will still enter the email address you wish to receive responses to into the Email address field.
When customers receive an email via SendGrid, the email will show:
'On behalf of [your store name] <mailsvc+youremail@toniq.co.nz>'
See example below showing how your email will be formated when the customer receives their email.
Setting the email address on your Store
This only needs to be done once per Store. Go to:
- 7. Administration > 1. Setup > 8. Pharmacy > 1. Store Setup for Dispensary
- 7. Administration > 1. Setup > 7. Store Setup > 1. Store Setup for Retail
Under the Email field press the spacebar and select your newly set up email address:
