Estimating Co-payment Value (excluding under 14s, 65+, and exempt scripts)

To estimate co-payment value, excluding patients under 14 years old, 65 years and over, and exempt scripts, from the main menu go to:

1. 9. Other, 2. Bulk edit patients and begin a new report by pressing F3 Add.
2. Specify a date range, in the Period
   • Hint: the easiest range is probably 1 July 2022 to 1 July 2023, being the closest "like-for-like" with $5 co-payments.
3. In Items enter 1 and leave the to blank.
4. Enter A4 in Rx code and tick Original Rx only.
5. Enter Age 0 to 64.
6. Then press F12 Accept Details.

The result will be a list of patients 0 - 64 years of age with A4 prescriptions. To add under 14-year-olds:

• Press F2 Edit list and select Add more patients in bulk.
  
• Enter the same date range as used originally.
• In Items enter 1 and leave the to blank.
• Enter J4 in Rx code and tick Original Rx only.
• Then press F12 Accept Details.

This will then present you the list of patients with the required totals at the top right of the screen.

• To estimate the cost of discounting prescriptions with a $5 co-payment, multiply the Total Rx items by $5. (Value on this report is the value based on patient and subsidy price, so should be ignored.)

Note: The figure will likely be an overestimated because scripts may have been processed as A4, but some people may have a Community Services Card which may not been entered into Toniq as A1.
