From the 1st of November 2023, Pharmac will implement their Decision to amend the Pharmaceutical Schedule Rules to align funding with the Misuse of Drugs Amendment Regulations (No 2) 2023 (which was changed on 5 October 2023).
As this decision was made on 16 October 2023, with an update on the 30th of October 2023, there will be no changes to the Toniq software until mid-late November.
In practice, this should cause little disruption, but there won't be the same safeguards, such as excess supply period prompts, you would expect from Toniq Dispensary. Please take care when dispensing Class C opioid controlled drugs as Toniq Dispensary will not warn you if you supply in excess of 30 days' supply.

Claiming Issue Regarding Repeat Dispensings for Class C Opioids
Sector Operations, via a communication from Pharmac, advises that Class C opioid repeat dispensings issued after 5 October 2023 may be rejected for payment, even against a prescription presented before 5 October 2023.
See Information for pharmacists about repeat dispensings for class C opioids for further information.
