When F2 Vary Mixt. is used to change a mixture, the existing (pre-changed) formulation is saved unchanged in the system but hidden in the search list. Historical scripts of the pre-change mixture remain accurate as these reference this hidden mixture.
The new mixture's changes are saved with the same name as the hidden one, ensuring the correct formulation will be selected next time.
Example
- A non-subsidised ingredient needs to be replaced in a mixture:
- Select the medicine (as in the screenshot above) and press F4 Del Ingred.
- Enter the required (subsidised) replacement medicine:
- Press F12 Accept Details to save the new formulation.
- If F7 Show Hidden is used when doing a mixture search there will be 2 mixtures named 4% Salicylic Acid in Aqueous (the hidden one in red):
- The history grid of a patient who has been dispensed both the previous and the new mixture formulations will show the two variations of the mixture on different lines with the same mixture name:
