First decide if all, or only selected patients, are to receive the discount. Then follow the relevant instructions.
To Discount ALL Patients
From the main menu of Dispensary, go to
- 7. Administration, 1. Setup, then 4. Standard price parameters.
- Set CoPay adjustment to -5.00.
- Then press F12 Accept Details to save.
This will automatically remove a $5.00 from all prescriptions co-payments without further setup.
Note: This will also reduce $15 co-payments to $10. If there is no charge to the patient, i.e. $0 co-payment, then no claim will be made to Southern Cross.
To Discount SELECTED Patients
Set up a medicine fee and dispense it to relevant patients.
Set up the fee
This is only required to be done once.
- Go to 2. Stock control, then 4. Maintain medicine.
- Enter 99999301 to select the medicine which Toniq has added to help with discounting.
- It will be named COPAY – DISCOUNT and have the following instructional dispensing note:

- Edit this medicine to
- Set the Retail price to -$5.00,
- Tick the Fee tick box and the No updates tick box,
- Set Shortcut to copay, and
- Delete the dispensary note instructions, and
- Press F12 Accept Details to save.
Dispensing
Example: for an A4 patient who has 6 new script items with a $5.00 co-payment on each, dispense a quantity of 6 on the COPAY - DISCOUNT to give a discount of $30.00.
Reporting
A Dispensary Summary report cannot be run for a single medicine (or fee) but can be run for a medicine group.
- Go to 2. Stock control, 9 Maintain medicine groups, and press F3 Add.
- Set the medicine group Name to Co-payment discounting and press F12 to save.
- Then go to 2. Stock control, 4. Maintain medicine, and select COPAY - DISCOUNT,
- Press F11 Next page twice, and press the spacebar to select the Medicine group Co-payment discounting, then press F11 twice and F12 to save.
- Go to 3. Reports, 1. Business analysis reports, and 1. Dispensary summary.
- Run the report for required date range and setting the Medicine group to Co-payment discounting.
