Medicine identification using appearance

You can find medicines based on their appearance, eg "yellow triangle"

From the Dispensary main menu go to:

• 3. Reports
• 3. Medicine reports
• 2. User Maintained Medicines
• Type in the colour and shape of the medicine in the Appearance field
• F12 Accept and run the report to screen
• Look at the medicine again – now do you know what it is?

NB: Triangle not triangular

Imprints

Common characteristics e.g: a round white tablet will yield many results.  The imprint on the tablet can be really helpful to reduce the matches or indeed to home in directly on the medicine.  Try searching on an imprint of “P10”.  What is it?

NB: We try to record appearances for all subsidised and commonly dispensed medicines with a Medsafe datasheet.
