Re-order points, ReOp., and re-order quantities, ReOq., can be set under F4 stock on any medicine in Dispensary:
It is recommended that Order Types are set up optimally before setting re-order points and quantities. See: Why are some items not coming into my orders?
ReOp. and ReOq. should only be used if a particular medicine is not ordering the way you expect. These settings override the settings in Order Types and can cause issues if not configured correctly.
Note: In most cases it is not advised to set ReOp. or ReOq. for multi-sites because the one setting is used by both sites.
Setting ReOp. and ReOq.
The table below shows the effects of setting ReOp. and ReOq. independently and together. The example parameters are:
- An Order Type where Min cover is set to 7 days and Max cover 14 days.
- Medicine usage of approximately 5 packs per week.
- Unset to establish default Buy Quantity levels.
- Automatic.
- SOH gives Min cover but is ignored.
- To order wholesalers' outer packs automatically set a Med price list on the order type rather than using a ReOq..
If a medicine's usage changes, the re-order points or quantities need to be adjusted manually. Medicines with ReOp. and ReOq. set can be reviewed using the User Maintained Medicine Report. From the main menu go to:
- 3. Reports
- 3. Medicine reports
- 2. User maintained medicines
- Tick Reorder Point/Quantity/MaxSOH, then press F12 Accept Details.
The report will show ReOp., ReOq., and Max SOH values for all medicines that have these values set.
