Special Authority Lookup from Dispensary

NB: The special authority lookup utility is provided to pharmacy by the Ministry of Health. It runs through an internet browser and requires a valid digital certificate. It needs to be individually installed with a valid certificate on any workstation that is to have the lookup functionality.   

The Special Authority lookup is not integrated into Dispensary, but there are a few keys available to help you with the lookup, so it can be thought of as interfaced.

Since the lookup is NOT integrated, the MOH lookup through the browser must be setup and working before the Dispensary shortcut keys will work.

At the point where a special authority number and date is entered (or edited), a number of special function keys are available to the user. 

These shortcut function keys cannot be clicked on with the mouse, they MUST be pressed.

• Pressing F7 Hist lookup does not go out to the Spec Authority lookup. It looks through the current patient’s history (in Toniq) and presents a table showing all the medicines that have had a special authority. If one of these spec auth history lines is selected, the special authority number and expiry date will be transferred to the prescription currently being processed.

• Pressing F8 lookup by NHI, launches the Ministry Special Authority lookup in whatever browser is set on the current workstation.  When the 'call' is made to the website it transfers with it the patient's NHI so that the relevant page is displayed for special authorities for this current patient.

• Pressing F9 lookup by Special Authority number, launches the Ministry Special Authority lookup in whatever browser is set on the current workstation.  When the 'call' is made to the website it transfers with it the special authority approval number that is present in the entry form in Toniq (beginning 1132 in the screen shot above) so that the relevant page is displayed for all medicines that have been given approval under this number.

NB: When the website is launched the user will still be prompted to approve the certificate being used to get to the site.
