On 1 April, as part of the regular Schedule Update, Pharmac are changing the descriptions of the pack sizes on 81 products (see Pharmac's Changes to pack size descriptions and Schedule Update - effective 1 April 2025). Per the Schedule, Toniq delisted the old Pharmacodes for these products and listed the new ones with the changed description on 1 April.
Replacement Medicines
On the night of 31 March, Toniq put the new pharmacodes as Replacement Medicines on the items being delisted, so users will be prompted to use the correct Pharmacodes. (This required the server to be on and all PCs to be out of Toniq).
Rx Processing
Take care when entering quantities for these items after the description changes on 1 April. For example, changes are being made on products from mL to g, and from mL to bottles or cartons (e.g. on special foods):
Cycles
As stated above, replacement medicines have been added to all the affected products, so the correct pharmacode will be selected during cycle processing, but the quantity will need to be adjusted manually on new and repeat prescriptions to reflect the new pack size.
Moving Stock
The old and new pharmacodes are the same product, so the remaining stock on the delisted products should be moved to the new stock cards.
Ordering
Toniq will use information on the old pharmacodes to create orders for the new items because they have replacement medicines set. The difference in pack descriptions may create order quantities based on the old unit of measure. Please check orders carefully to ensure that the order quantities are for the correct unit of measure before sending.
Cross Over Retail/Dispensary Products
See April 1st 2025 Pharmacode Changes and Link Stock Cards between Retail and Dispensary for de-linking and relinking products that are both in Retail and Dispensary, ensuring stock movement between Retail and Dispensary uses the correct Pharmacodes.
