Health NZ Issued PSC Numbers

From 31 March 2025, Health New Zealand will issue PSC Numbers automatically when you mark a patient as exempt:

When a patient's script count reaches 20, selecting any Make exempt options on the prompt will make the patient and their family exempt and automatically generate a Health NZ Prescription Subsidy Card (PSC) number. Pharmacies no longer have to enter a card number manually; the Health NZ PSC number will automatically be applied to the patient and their family members.

A success message with the PSC number issued by Health NZ will be displayed.

Cycle processing will have this same functionality; patients will get a PSC number issued by Health NZ when their script count reaches 20.
